Name: Doug Carl

Bio: Doug Carl started playing lacrosse in the Philadelphia area in 1985 while attending Ursinus College. He first coached Cumberland Valley High school and won two Mid-Penn League titles in four years. He then worked NCAA Colleges, doing the obligatory summer camp circuit across the country including San Diego, where there were players who would wind up at Sonoma State. When their coach resigned, they suggested team administrator get in touch. He did and, Doug accepted the position.In 2001 the team won the WCLL title, and repeated in 2002, also winning the 2002 MCLA (then USLIA) National Championship. Sonoma State won eight consecutive WCLL Division titles. He has also won coach of the year at the high school, collegiate league and national levels. He resides three miles from campus with his wife and three children.
Name: Panchito Ojeda
Position: Offensive Coordinator / Assistant Coach

Bio: Coach Ojeda is in his third year with Sonoma State, his second as Offensive Coordinator. Prior to moving to California, Coach Ojeda has spent 4 years at his Alma Mater, Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. During his time at Marquette, Coach Ojeda was twice recognized as the Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference Coach of the Year (’07 & ’10). Coach Ojeda also had the pleasure of having the best recruiting class in history at Marquette with 3 HS All-Americans joining the squad for his final season in 2010.Coach Ojeda grew up in Fairfax, VA attending Bishop Ireton HS. At Bishop Ireton he was a 3 year varsity player and received Honorable Mention All-Conference in the WCAC his senior year. After graduation, he went on to play for Marquette where he was a midfielder and the team’s leading scorer his senior year. Coach Ojeda resides in Petaluma, CA with his wife and dog. He is currently employed at the American Cancer Society as a Business Intelligence Solutions Analyst.
Name: Matt Blamey
Position: Defensive Coordinator / Assistant Coach

Bio: Coach Matt Blamey is in his second year as the Defensive Coordinator for Sonoma State. Prior to relocating to California, Coach Blamey spent the previous two years as the founder and head coach of the Northern Virginia Community College Men’s Lacrosse Program (NOVA). Prior to his time at NOVA, Blamey spent seven years as the Head Coach at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA. Blamey was recognized twice as the Liberty District Coach of the Year (’06 & ‘08) while with the South Lakes program. In 2009, Blamey had the honor of coaching South Lakes High School’s first-ever US Lacrosse High School All-America selection.Growing up playing defense in Northern Virginia, Blamey earned multiple MVP honors as a captain for the Gar-Field high school lacrosse team. Blamey was selected First Team All-Conference three of his four years on Varsity, a two-time Virginia Commonwealth Games starter, and an All-Met nominee his senior year. After graduating in 1996, Blamey continued his playing career as a defender and long-stick midfielder with the University of Mary Washington. In addition to his on field coaching, Blamey is the former goalie for Team America, a post-collegiate men’s box lacrosse team in the Metro Area Box Lacrosse League. In 2008, Team America was successful in capturing the MABLL Senior A Championship. Currently Blamey lives with his wife and son in Cotati, CA and is employed as the Director of New Media and Lacrosse at Sports City.
